African Entertainment Awards calls for nominations

This year’s award ceremony which is themed, Rebranding Africa Through Entertainment will be hosted by John Dumelo and female international recording artiste, Emma Nyra.

The entry process is expected to end on May 23, 2015. By the regulations set for the awards scheme, participants are expected to nominate themselves online at the African Entertainment Awards website in the various categories.

A panel of judges will select the final list of nominations based on reviews and the set criteria.

There are 25 categories to be competed for by selected nominees such as Best MC, Best DJ, Best Male Gospel Artist, Best Female Gospel Artist, Best Female Artist, Best Male Artist, Best Album, Best Single, Best Producer and Best Video Director.

The others are Best Promoter, Best Comedian, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Designer, Best Media, Best Record Label, Best New Artist, Best Band/Group, Traditional Artist of the Year, Athlete of the Year, Crossover Artist, Beacon Of Africa, Award of Excellence and Community Champion.

International awards include; International Best Male Artist, Intanational Best Female Artist, International Best African Actor, Intanational Best African Actress and Intanational African Music Ambassador.

Founder and Executive Producer of the African Entertainment Awards, Ibrahim Adekale, said the awards scheme was instituted to honour creative talents in the entertainment industry and to share the African talents to the world.

He said the awards ceremony is also aimed at honouring the achievements in African entertainment, showcase the rich culture of African art and to recognise the works of individuals who have positively impacted the African entertainment industry.
