Ashanti Region: Over 100 SHS students test positive for COVID-19

News circulating online has it that over 100 students in four Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Ashanti Region have tested positive for COVID-19 in the latest reports from the Ghana Health Service.

The Ashanti Regional Health Director of the Ghana Health Service Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang speaking on Kumasi based Nhyira FM Kukurantumi show hosted by Nana Kwadwo Jantuah said Covid cases are rising in some secondary schools in the region.

Ghana has recorded 100,250 Coronavirus cases with 819 deaths and 95,871 recoveries.

According to Dr Emmanuel Tenkorang, “It is so pathetic that students in some various secondary schools in Ashanti Region have been infected with the Covid”.

“Now people have failed to follow the COVID-19 directives and even when you go to the schools especially Secondary Schools, the students are not wearing nose masks where other directives been disregarded” Dr Emmanuel Tenkorang added.
