Bass Awards at Accra stadium
The second edition of the Bass Awards, the annual awards scheme designed to celebrate Reggae and Dancehall musicians comes off tonight at the Accra Sports Stadium with Shatta Wale, MzVee, AK Songstress, Episode, RudeBoy Ranking, Luther, Queen Adjoba and Rashid Metal as performers.
According to the organisers of the show, this year’s show will be an improvement over last year’s. “The artistes have been rehearsing for almost a month just to put up a good show on the night”, said Bulldog, CEO of Bullhaus Entertainment.
Voting for the nominees in the five voting categories; Reggae Artiste of the Year, Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Best Reggae Collaboration, Best Dancehall Collaboration and Alternative Reggae Song of the Year, ended yesterday, November 28.
The first edition of the awards saw Samini topping with three awards. He won Artiste of the Year, Dancehall Artiste of the Year and Performer of the Year. The ceremony which saw an even spread of awards among the most visible reggae and dancehall acts in Ghana since 2010 was filled with exciting performances from the likes of Jupitar, Na U, General Marcus, Black Prophet, Knii Lante, Kaakie, Stonebwoy and many others.
The Bass Awards is organised by Bullhaus Entertainment in collaboration with Solid Multimedia with support from Rackus Productions.
