Chorkor Beach revelers were born stupid -Manasseh Azure Awuni

Highly opinionated and multiple award-winning journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has condemned the people who went to chorkor beach.

The journalist said their decision to go and chill amid the swift spread of the disease amounts to stupidity. Manasseh who once said it men should wash the panties for their partners when they are in a relationship is highly revered for his investigative prowess.

What the Chorkor beach revelers did is unfortunate and condemnable. I am, however, uncomfortable with people calling them stupid. Some called the kayayei who were escaping the lockdown stupid, and it appears those who do not adhere to lockdown are called stupid irrespective of their reasons or circumstances.

There are often wayward ones but the magnitude of the numbers should alarm us and make us probe further.

Even if we agree that they are stupid, the next question is: were they born stupid or we made them stupid? If they had been born in East Legon and had gone to Roman Ridge School or GIS, would they have done what they did yesterday? Would you be different if you were in their shoes? And are they not the product/victims of stupid decisions by their “wise” leaders over the years?
