COVID-19: 553 out of 1,300 Ghanaian workers test positive after an outbreak in an industrial facility

The world is currently cornered by the adverse effects of Novel Coronavirus which has made life close to ‘abnormal’. The idea of staying away from others to salvage the situation since there’s no vaccine at the moment is seen as a big blow to families, loved ones, collegaues and all and sundry.

Per a report from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Ghana’s COVID-19 case count, there has been an outbreak in the yet-to-be-disclosed industrial facility. The said facility has had 553 out of 1,300 workers in there testing positive for the deadly virus.

According to the report, the cases account for 50% of 921 cases recorded between the last update on confirmed cases on May 4 and May 8, 2020.

As of the time of filing this report, Ghana has recorded 4,263 cases and 22 mortalities.
