COVID-19: Franklin Cudjoe calls for reversal of CST for effective e-Learning
President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has called for a swift reversal of the Communication Service Tax (CST) to enable Ghanaians to afford internet data for effective virtual learning and other activities amidst the COVID-19 brouhaha with most learners currently home.
Aside from online teaching and learning, churches who were also banned from operating due to a suspension of public gatherings via a Presidential order have also started delivering their sermons through live streamings on social media.
To concretize his point, Franklin Cudjoe tweeted:
“Ministry of Finance, National Communications Authority and the Ministry of Communications, please reverse the 50% increase in Communications Service Tax to enable ordinary Ghanaians afford Internet data to cope with home education for school pupils in these sad times. Internet data is too costly in Ghana due to draconian taxes!!”
