Face Of A-Poly Slated 7th May This Year

Face of A-Poly has been organized by different organizations in Accra but this year`s organization seems to have started on a very bright note. In partnership with 5Face events, the SRC of the school is yet to present another edition of the coveted beauty pageant.

Face of Accra Poly is set to come off on the 7th of May, 2011 at the Dome of the Conference Center. The launch of the most talked about school beauty pageant took place at the premises of the school last week Wednesday with majority of the students patronizing the center to have a feel of the pageant.

The program kicked of with some dancing displays from some of the students after which the mcs made way for the chairperson to be introduced. Madam Rita King, the registrar of Accra Poly was introduced as the chairperson for the occasion and in a short message, she thanked the organizers for their efforts and urged the contestants to bring out the best of themselves. She was quick to add that beauty pageants should not always be fashion oriented, but should also take their studies serious as they take the pageant. In Madam Rita’s speech, she also thanked the former queen for her bold initiative to help in the education of cholera.

The launching and unveiling of the logo was done by seasoned actress Mariam Addo. The theme for this year`s pageant is “Contribution of a young woman towards social development in Ghana”.Just as some actors and actresses passed through the program, some musicians also came around to support the launch.

Some known faces that made it on the day were Kay Gee of mentor fame, Christian of Project Fame, Stay Jay, Fire, Kofi Stixs the black survivor and many other faces. Mcs for the day were Samar Koder-Agha of SKA Concept and also an actress and Omar da 1st : an actor and a presenter with Citi 97.3fm.
