Francis Asenso Boakye’s victory message

Good afternoon,

As you are aware, the Electoral Commission earlier today declared me the winner of the primaries held to elect a parliamentary candidate for the Bantama Constituency.

The good Book instructs that in all things, we must give thanks to God. Indeed, praise and honour belongs to Him. I’m thankful for His faithfulness and enduring mercies.

I would like to convey my deep appreciation foremost to His Excellency, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for giving me the opportunity to serve in his government and the blessing to contest in this primaries.

I’m grateful to my family for their compassion and love in my long journey to become the parliamentary candidate for the Bantama constituency. It has not been an easy road to travel but their words of encouragement has kept me focused. Through this journey, I have learnt the value of patience and persistence.

To my colleagues, friends and party members, your support and sound advice has been most invaluable and inspiring. Thank you for standing by me.

To the executives and esteemed delegates,
I came to you as your son with an appeal to consider my candidature. You responded with an emphatic display of goodwill and brotherliness. The confidence reposed in me will be reciprocated in deeds and actions.

This victory is truly a collective one for all of Bantama and the good people of Kumasi. However the job is not yet fully done. We have a general election a few months ahead of us. We must come together as one family to mobilize the constituents, firstly to participate in the new voter register exercise and subsequently to vote in December.

I should like to extend a hand of friendship to Hon Okyem Aboakye, our outgoing Member of Parliament. He served Bantama to the best of his abilities and remain a part of the great Osono family. I trust he will bring his energies and resources to bear on the battle ahead.

In the next coming days, I intend to meet with the elders and executives of the party in the constituency to define a road map of engagement. I will count on the support of all well meaning people of Bantama to help deliver a resounding victory in the general elections.

The development agenda for Bantama remains my upmost priority. I look forward to a constructive engagement with all delegates and members of our party. Thank you once again and May God bless us all.
