GES appeals to staff and learners to support voluntary blood donation.



Scientifically, a blood donation occurs when a person voluntarily has blood drawn and used for transfusions and/or made into biopharmaceutical medications by a process called fractionation (separation of whole-blood components). The National Blood Service (NBS), Ghana, as an agency under the Ministry of Health has requested volunteers to donate towards saving the lives of patients who may require safe blood services.

GES has indicated through a Facebook post that its staff and students should engage officers from NBS, Ghana, as they counsel staff and students towards this very blood donation campaign.

With this communique, GES is strategically collaborating with NBS as a state agency to embark on blood donation campaign in the offices and schools in order to augment stock at the blood bank.
