Ghana to deploy new, retired healthcare professionals for COVID-19 fight

The Ministry of Health is currently mobilizing new and retired healthcare professionals to augment the nation’s health professionals to lead the fight against COVID-19.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in a national broadcast on Saturday night @ 9:00 GMT said such personnel will help deal with a possible surge in infections in the coming days as the country struggles to contain the spread of the Coronavirus disease.

In his own words, he had this to say:

“Its heartening to hear of a number of retired healthcare professionals who have stepped forward to offer their services…”

Ghana as part of the precautionary measures against the disease has closed all borders for a fortnight.
