Ghanaian movie producers must sit up – Nigerian actress

images6D3DUVUUNigerian actress, Uche Joan Iwuanyanwu has advised Ghanaian movie producers to sit up and improve the industry which she says has a lot of potential.

The beautiful actress who has since 2009 acted in a number of Ghanaian movies, including the Frank Rajah directed ‘Cheaters’, ‘Pool Party’, ‘4play Reloaded’, ‘Somewhere In Africa’ among others, made the observation when she compared working in Ghana’s movie industry to that of Nigeria (Nollywood).

“As a Nigerian actress who has worked in both Ghana and Nigeria, I will say the difference between shooting in Nigeria and Ghana is actually large,” she pointed out.

Uche indicated that “the general obvious difference with respect to Ghana is the conducive and constant power supply which makes working there a lot easier and stress-free.”

With respect to her home-country Nigeria, the popular actress said “shooting in Nigeria gives you a larger audience because the country is a big one. Also, nothing gives the heart so much joy like working in your territory. Being a Nigerian, it’s actually cool working in Nigeria more for me, even though I love the peaceful nature that comes with shooting in Ghana.”

“But it’s actually very true that Nigerian producers are professional. Nigerians are professionals to the core; there are no sentimental attachments and all. Your negotiated fee is paid to you. No playing while working; they draw the line between business and pleasure,” she emphasized.
