Government Will Not Abandon Uncompleted Hospitals – NPP Appointee


The Director of Communications at the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr. George Ayisi has reiterated that the government is fully committed to completing “abandoned” hospitals in addition to the 88 district hospitals yet to be commenced.

He revealed that the government has not abandoned any hospital as being speculated or alleged but was only adding to existing health facilities.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during his eighth address on COVID-19 explained that new eighty-eight 100-bed capacity will be constructed in some selected districts.

Some opposition political parties and a section of Ghanaians have doubted the President’s initiative.


Speaking on Onua TV’s Maakye hosted by Bright Kwasi Asempa, Mr. Ayisi said the 100-bed fitted for the districts will start by June.

“We will not abandon any project”, he stated.

“when the coronavirus came, the free water and electricity reliefs were not captured in any budget yet we are doing it. Free food and 50% salaries increment is not in any budget. It is not in the 2020 budget but we provided it. That is contingency”, he concluded.
