ICGC postpones baptism over Coronavirus scare

The leadership of International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) has announced measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 at its various assemblies across Ghana.

A precautionary circular issued by the General Secretary, Reverend Morris Appiah, to all pastors provided some guidelines and a short video to be played at all churches “to educate your congregants on the disease”.

Each church has also been directed to provide hand hygiene including making available sanitizers at all entry points to auditoriums and other church offices.

Jointly used pieces of equipment such as microphones, musical instruments and offering baskets are to be sanitized regularly.

Those who count offerings and serve communions are also to do so by wearing gloves.

Washrooms are to be kept clean at all times.

No more baptism until further notice, etc.

ICGC is an evangelical, Charismatic Christian church headquartered at Abossey Okai in Accra, Ghana which was founded on ‎26th February 1984 by Pastor Dr. ‎Mensa Otabil.

Readers can recall that Pastor Dr. ‎Mensa Otabil was highly criticized some years ago because of his alleged involvement in the collapsed Capital Bank.
