Intimate roles sometimes continue off set – Adjetey Anang

imagesRevered Ghanaian actor, Adjetey Anang, popularly known as Pusher has revealed that a number of his colleagues transfer the energy they build from acting intimate scenes in movies into real life.

“I have seen some of my colleagues get carried away even after the cameras have stopped rolling.”

The actor told Morning Starr host Nii Arday Clegg on Starr 103.5 FM Friday that he personally finds intimate roles as the most challenging of all movie roles to play.

He said he tries “to shy away from kissing roles” as a matter of choice.

“… I won’t impose my principles on anyone.”

He, however, said although he tries to avoid those roles, he has had to play such in a few movies and the actresses, Jackie Appiah and Naa Ashokor made it easier for him.

“There was a scene I shot with Naa Ashokor and people actually thought we really kissed because it looked so real in the cameras.

“Kissing is actually meant for lovers, so we must focus on making it as ‘make-believe’ as possible.”

Adjetey Anang, born 8 July 1973, shot into the limelight when he starred in the popular television series “Things We Do for Love “in which he was called “Pusher”, a name which has since remained on the lips of many Ghanaians.

He has since featured in many Ghanaian movies, including “Deadly Voyage”, “A Sting in a Tale”, and “The Perfect Picture”.

Adjetey Anang has won several awards, including an Arts Critique and Review Association of Ghana (ACRAG) Talent Award and A Ghana Union of Theatre Societies (GUTS) Best Actor Award.
