Is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Eyeing Obama’s Job?

Is it really so far-fetched that a pro-wrestler may one day become president of these United States? Apparently not to scrapper-turned-actor Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson who is serious about pursuing a political run in this country.

Johnson, who will be starring in the upcoming summer blockbuster “G.I. Joe:  Retaliation” told Moviefone.com:

Right now the best way that I can impact the world is through entertainment. One day, and that day will come, I can impact the world through politics. The great news is that I am American, therefore I can become President. But don’t forget, I am G.I. Joe.

If Johnson does decide to throw in his hat for a political bid at some future point, he will join the ranks of former President Ronald Reagan, a Hollywood film star; U.S. Representative Fred Grandy, who played “Gopher” on the TV series “The Love Boat;” and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, a film action hero.

The third-generation former WWE superstar seems to be taking the same career path that Jesse “The Body” Ventura, the former governor of Minnesota, embarked upon.  After a long wrestling career, Ventura switched to acting before venturing in to politics.

Johnson ironically got a small nibble of presidential life, when he played “The Rock Obama” two years ago during a comedy sketch on the NBC-TV long-running show “Saturday Night Live.”  The actor was praised for doing a spot-on (albeit monosyllabic) Obama impression.

Until then, Johnson will be training for a WrestleMania main event, where he says he is looking forward to opponent John Cena “removing my size 15 boot from his lady parts.”
