(Just In): Prez Extends Closure Of Ghana’s Borders By Two Weeks – See Full Details

President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced on March 21 that he was closing Ghana’s borders by air, sea, and land for two weeks as a way to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Because the closure effect is about to end, the President has further extended it by another two weeks.

The extension according to tweets from the Information Minister takes effect from midnight April 5, 2020.

See Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah’s tweet below:

“President @NAkufoAddo has by a new executive instrument, EI 66, extended the closure of Ghana’s borders by another two weeks effective midnight tomorrow April 5.”

“Mr President believes that these tough decisions are necessary to protect the lives of Ghanaians despite the inconvenience it causes to many,” he stated.
