Kojo Antwi, others set for MTN LAL Ball

imagesMusic lovers will today be treated to a once-in-a-lifetime music experience at this year’s edition of the MTN Legends and Legacy (LAL) Ball, honouring music legend, Kojo Antwi.

This year’s edition, which is the fourth in the series, is organised by Imajin Advertising and meant to honour outstanding Ghanaian musicians and with the baton in the hands of Kojo Antwi, everyone can look forward to a night of delightful performances.

Kojo Antwi’s hit songs are countless. They mostly revolve around romantic love so fans would expect tracks such as  Akonoba, Groovy, MenyaNtaban, Medofo Pa, OdoMayea, Rocklyn,  Me Ndaadaa Me, Bo Me Nkomo De, Dadie Anoma and  Makoma Doctor.

He plunged into serious rehearsal with his Freedom Family Band immediately he was announced some weeks back as the star to be celebrated this year.

“I have got some of the most brilliant young Ghanaian instrumentalists in that band and we are going to make everybody happy,” said Kojo Antwi.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Kojo Antwi shows has been his entry onto the stage. He always holds that close to his chest.

That means fans have at various times seen him appear on a horse, in a wheelchair, bathtub or palanquin. He has also flown onto the stage before. Only he at this time knows how he will be on stage today.

The list of artistes scheduled to do their renditions of Kojo Antwi songs on the night include Wutah Afriyie, MzVee, Wiyaala, Edem, Efya, Nacy, Akwaboah, Kwabena Kwabena, Kwaisey Pee  and Kaakie.

Stylish lawyer, Nana Asante Bediatuo, has also been mentioned by Imajin Advertising as one of those to mount the stage on the night.

There will be an international flavour to the event with an appearance by the well-known South African singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

Soweto-born Chaka Chaka has been a firm fixture on the South African popular music scene for over two-and-a-half decades. Songs such as I’m Burning Up, Thank You Mister DJ and the ever-popular Umqombothi (African Beer) have solidly ensured her stardom worldwide.

Sonti Ndebele, also from South Africa, and Nana Yaa have collaborated with “The Music Man” on a number of his songs and they will be in the house tonight to join him thrill patrons.

Imajin Advertising has over the last few years proved its capability at pulling off well-produced shows and the 2014 MTN LAL Ball should be another thrilling offer from them.
