Post Kwame Nkrumah Circle disaster WHO TO BLAME

The blame game has started as usual. All the radio stations have begun their morning shows with topics like “the aftermath of flood and fire disaster; the Circle incidence; what next after 200 people passed away?” Fanatics from different political quarters start to express their views. Political leaders are being called to comment, which condones the ingenuity of economic growth.

The concern is where such views are never taken on board by any institution in government. “Talk talk, no action’’ syndrome will never cease to surprise me.  Leadership is where you hold firm to your words or directions whether wrong or right, yet establishing those views could stand the test of time; in other words – ensuring conformity to rules. We live in an era where leaders are faced with so many international regulations; it has become complicated to establish anything meaningful.

This is where the cry of opposition in or out of government is contradicted when the table turns. I remember when there were floods in the 1980s and the then Flight Lieutenant Rawlings would dirty his hands to assist in rescuing affected people. Is over 20 years and the situations have not improved after all the complaints, views, opinions and change of leaderships.

Dr Kwame Nkrumah said it all, in his Independence Speech – March 6, 1957, Accra, Ghana. “At long last, the battle has….. As this great man said, We need to change our minds and attitudes.”

Whatever direction our MINDS AND ATTITUDES were to change towards; the solution is YOU!
