Ghana’s political office is not one which is held with ease. The hustles and bustles that one has to go through before securing enough votes ahead of opponents may never be a child’s play.

On social media, there are various photos of flag bearers of some political parties and aspiring Members of Parliament fetching water, pounding fufu, walking barefooted and with their bare chests, carrying loads of charcoal and doing other menial tasks just to appeal to voters’ conscience to accept them as one of their very own.

A popular blogger and social media influencer has posted a picture of John Dumelo, the talented actor aspiring to represent the constituents of Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the 2021-2024 August House using a ladle to get soup and meat from a pot for some Ghanaians in their homes.

He captioned the pic as “insanity”. Checkout the photo below:

Many Ghanaians are gradually unravelling the political gimmicks some of these politicians employ during electioneering years to garner more floating votes and actual votes for their political successes. During election years, some Ghanaians believe that most politicians wouldn’t even mind sharing their wives with voters, serving as ” boy boy” or even turning themselves into woolen carpets to be trampled on for the votes!
