The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has shared his worship moment with the Chief Imam and all our Muslims brothers and sisters.
In one of his social media posts, the Veep asserted;
“This morning, my wife and I joined the National Chief Imam His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and fellow Muslims to observe the Eid-ul Fitr prayers at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in Accra.
For the second time in a row this year, the National Eid prayer was held with a handful of Muslims in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
I urged fellow Muslims and Ghanaians to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, which Eid-ul Adha signifies, and be each other’s keeper, especially during this difficult moment we are all trying to be safe from the Coronavirus.
I reiterated President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s continuous effort at building an inclusive nation to alleviate the suffering of the poor and deprived through pragmatic policies which leave no one behind, such as Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, One Village One Dam, Ambulances, One Constituency One Million Dollars, National Identification, etc.
With Zongos being part of government’s inclusion agenda, I reiterated President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to using the Ministry of Zongo and Inner Cities Development, as well as the Zongo Development as vehicles to address the needs of Zongos”.
