Afrotastic 2014: A natural hair affair on July 5

52573923Indeed, as the saying goes about hair and women, it is her crowning glory; and to be beautiful and confident enough is to be humble and natural.

Also, it is with no doubt that your hair is whatever you want it to be; think it’s sexy, sassy, or elegant so will It be and think it’s ugly, it will gladly adhere to your request.

But in recent times, have you noticed the increasing number of Ghanaian women who have worn the crown of interest in growing naturals and rocking in their afros and curly hair?

Certainly, it’s such a giant step for women in our community who ditch weaves and relaxers to embrace their natural hair; although keeping natural hair comes with some difficulties but possibly they are ‘making whatever (hair) you were with, work’; a quote by Glamour Magazine.

With the difficulties in growing natural, most women who opt to grow natural hair give up sooner or later due to the challenges they encounter when combing and treating their hair; they decide to go back to relaxers.

Fortunately, Ghana’s Premier Natural Hair Bloggers; Ghanaian Naturals and NaturalistaGh owned by Afrodiva Nally and Annette Akye respectively will be hosting an event purposely to educate and guide natural-haired-ladies dubbed ‘Afrotastic 2014’.

‘Afrotastic 2014’ will be held at the YWCA opposite the Holy Spirit Cathedral on July 5, 2014 from 9:00am to 5pm prompt without a fee to participate. It will be annual event.

This event will feature Special Guest Rama Brew, Spoken word and Music from Ghana’s finest artiste, international and national natural hair product vendors amongst others and also, participants will be chanced to win free goody bags with natural hair products and accessories.

As it stands, always act like you’re wearing an invisible crown to boost your personality with your hair. So save the date, come with your friends and join the Natural hair discussion.
