FACE OF GHANA HOLLAND 2011 BEAUTY PAGEANT OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

The Face of Ghana Organization on Saturday, 12th March, 2011 officially launched this year’s edition of the beauty pageant in Amsterdam. A number of personalities that included the First Secretary and Head of Chancery of the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana, The Hague, Ms Salamatu Yakubu were present at the modest but appreciably well-attended event.

The Event Manager – Joe Lamptey, who addressed the invited guest at the event, seized the opportunity to introduce his team for the 2011 event. This included Peter Duah (a.k.a. Owura), the Executive/Technical Director of the organization and conceiver of the idea of the Face of Ghana Holland beauty pageant.

Others were – Juliet Afari (Finance), Sandra Agyeman (Special Duties), Pearl Buadu (Contestant Manager), Jackie Agyemang (Catwalk Coach), Charlene Austin (Choreographer) and Linda Nketiah (Production Manager).

The Event Manager spoke next about the aims and objectives behind the pageant, which he on the final note said was succinctly captured in the event slogan, ‘Beauty With A Mission’. He further outlined the series of promotional and learning activities to precede the grand finale, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 25th June, 2011 at the Ultra–modern Bijlmer Sports Hall at Anton de Komplein 157 in Amsterdam Southeast.

After introduction of winners of the 2009 event, the ten contestants for the upcoming event took turns in a carefully choreographed catwalk to demonstrate their majestic skills and paraded themselves to the full admiration and excitement of the guests.

The reigning Face of Ghana Holland 2009 Miss Augustina Austin, assisted by Ms Alberta Opoku, officially launched the 2011 event with a champagne toast. The event was recorded for television broadcast.
