HOW WILL OUR WORLD BE WITHOUT SMART PHONES…?

Have you ever sat down for just a minute to ponder over what our world may look like without the existence of smart phones?

Technological advancements can never be downplayed so far as our entertainment, happiness and lives are concerned. It has really come to make life very pleasurable and easy to live. Chief amongst them is the current trend in high-tech phones that have been introduced into the system over the years. These phones are so powerful that they can be used to do anything that hitherto was done with a lot of stress. With such powerful phones, they could serve as telephones, televisions, bibles, laptops, scanning machines, torch lights and so on and so forth.

In as much as we praise these smart phones for their “magical” specifications and abilities, we should also draw our attention to the mayhem they may cause. The problematic observations that these phones are bringing into our relationships and lives for instance can never be overlooked. Serious relationships are collapsing because of the attention partners give to their phones at the expense of their lovers. Instead of face to face verbal communications, many people resort to talking via phones. Less time is given to partners because of the presence of phones. When couples are suppose to be enjoying quality times together, they are tempted to surf through the internet.

During church services for instance, with the excuse of using the Bible app on the phone, congregants’ attention are drawn towards some “apps” on the phone.

Admittedly, one cannot cope without the presence of the phone ( and internet) during this digital age. But have you ever pondered over what would become of us as individuals if our phones are taken away from us for maybe a year? Will it patch tattered relationships? Will it draw us closer to our personal deities? Will it make us more caring?

Personally, no one has any right whosoever to determine when and how one uses his or her phone but ideally, it is much better to use them in such a way that it would not replace the expected roles that we ought to perform for our partners, friends, close families, etc.

Dear reader, I would be pleased to have your sincerest opinion on this matter…
