Maintaining long fingernails

Some women just love to have long nails but long fingernails usually mean more effort with maintenance, with the right care ladies can grow and maintain strong, healthy nails up to the length desired.

A host of ladies prefer putting on artificial nails to the natural but when kept clean such nails can look beautiful and charming.

Here are a few tips in maintaining long nails.

1. Find time to clean off existing polish using nail polish remover and a cotton ball, take off any nail polish that’s on your nails. Even if you don’t have any nail polish on, still wipe over them to clean off any dirt and oil.

2. Get a sponge, same as you would use to bath and scrub all over your nails. Make sure you are thorough on the tips of your nails. If you want to use something other than warm water to scrub your nails, try using a mix of hand lotion and one pump of moisturizing dish soap. Before doing this, rub them with warm water to soften them.

3. If your nails are brittle or chipping, clip them just a tiny bit or clip them so they are all one length. File your fingernails in whatever shape you like them, this makes them beautiful and healthier.

4. Rub some cuticle cream onto your nails and let it set for a minute. By doing this it brings out all other dirt from your nails and as well softens your hand.

5. Paint your nails with something that helps encourage nail growth. This will protect your nails from any damage and help them to grow long and strong.

6. One of the best aspects of having long nails is showing them with beautiful colours. If you don’t like bright colours, you could use toned down colours.
