For Immediate Release
The NDC in Bunkpurugu Constituency wishes to condemn in no uncertain terms, the irresponsible, reckless, and complete disregard for human lives by the North-East Regional Minister and MP for the Bunkpurugu Constituency, THE HON. SOLOMON BOAR who yesterday in Nakpanduri recklessly engineered, supported and financed the breach and complete disregard for the Presidential directives issued under E.I 164. We need not remind all NPP members including the rented participants in today’s walk as well as the Regional Minister that the law requires us all to strictly observe all Covid-19 safety protocols amidst the alarming rate of increases in COVID-19 cases count in Ghana.
Regrettably on July 13, 2020, the Hon. Solomon Boar organized what they (NPP) called “A Warmup Rally” in Nakpanduri by busing NPP party members across the constituency to converge and march on the principal streets of the Nakpanduri township. We in the NDC find this event and action to be highly irresponsible and should be condemned by all well-meaning citizens of Bunkpurugu Constituency and the people of Ghana. We further believe that the Regional Minister who is charged with the responsibility of protecting the lives of the people should have known better the dangers associated with organizing such an irresponsible event in blatant disregard to the President’s directive on social distancing and all safety protocols. We find this action as not only an attempt by Mr. Boar to rescue his sinking image due to his failed and abysmal performance over the last years of the NPP government but a deliberate and well-calculated plan to spread the COVID-19 cases in the Constituency. The Minister and MP who is now the latest law-breaking champion in the Bunkpurugu Constituency recently engaged in an illegal act of busing aliens who would have registered and subsequently voted in the Constituency, but for the vigilance of the NDC in the Bunkpurugu and Nelerigu-Gambaga Constituencies respectively.
We, therefore, want to call on the Regional Minister and MP, Solomon Boar, to emulate the NDC’s good conduct when we distributed thousands of face masks in Nakpanduri and across the constituency. The youth wing of our party recently organized a cleanup exercise in Nakpanduri and this will be replicated across the Constituency. Need we remind the Minister and the NER NPP Regional Secretary that as a law-abiding party we in the NDC shall continue to obey and observe all the social distancing protocols which they have blatantly disregarded yesterday in Nakpanduri.
Thus, it’s our sincere hope that by this release, Hon. Boar, the NPP and its members in the Bunkpurugu Constituency will henceforth be of good behavior in order not to endanger the lives of the good people of Nakpanduri and the rest of the people within the Constituency.
We would like to use this opportunity to remind all sons and daughters of Nakpanduri and its environs that let’s come out in our numbers to participate in the coming voter registration in Nakpanduri to kick out this clueless, inept, directionless MP and the NPP government come 7th December 2020.
