Reports circulating around suggest that management and leaders of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) are willing to lift the ban off the heads of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. Recall that these giant Dancehall artistes were banned over pulling of gun incidence some years ago. Well, a blogger has advised 1Don and 1Gad to strike a meaningful deal with VGMA before going back into the award scheme.

It’s reported that VGMA wants to lift the ban on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy—and here’s what the crazy me thinks!
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy should look and think beyond recognition and mere plaques—and probably lay down their terms and conditions on the table for the VGMA board.
It’s obvious that Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy can now live their lives without VGMA—despite the awards scheme making it look like these musicians are nothing without the scheme.
On the business side of it, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy can strike a deal with the VGMA board that we don’t need your awards anymore—and coming back means strictly business.
You give us 10% of whatever you guys make—or pay us huge for us to create that needed hype and tension around the VGMA—whether you give us awards or not.
This is not to say that VGMA cannot succeed without Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy but it’s obvious they need them and their fans to bring back that hype and tension around the scheme.
VGMA has cashed out from these musicians for years—and I think the perfect time has come for Wale and Stonebwoy to also cash out from them.
What do you think?
