I WON’T PAY ANY PAYOLA AGAIN – KOFI KINATA

Music is speedily becoming one of the most entertaining aspect of our daily lives.

Most musicians are continually assessing all possible avenues to make their performances one of the best in their domains.

As musicians, as soon as they compose songs and hit the studios, the next action is to put in place the necessary branding and promotions to make the title of the track a household name. One strategy that is adopted to make this a reality is for the said musician to contact and/or contract DJs and other TV or FM personalities to help their song enjoy massive airplays.

With this regard, these entertainment pundits are given “something” which is locally known as ‘Payola’ to motivate them in playing the musician’s song on his or her programme regularly.

One popular musician has pooh-poohed on the payola idea. Kofi Kinata of Team Move fame had this to say;

“I Will Never Pay Payola; If My Songs Won’t Get Airplay On Radio, My Fans Will Play It In Their Rooms”.
