When The Game Is Simply Too Dirty For Patronage

Occasionally, the beauty of football (or soccer) is solely dependent on the 22 players and how fair the referee is. Sometimes you wonder why the governing football bodies haven’t instituted ‘black’ card yet. This is because some fouls are just too much for yellow or red cards.

Watching football those days when Maldini, Gattuso, Stam and other ‘wicked’ defenders were at their peak was when we used to love football. Those days, we thought playing wicked was the new trend in town. That was when good players like big Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, Trezeguet, Rivaldo and co had regular injuries like it was part of their workout.

Personally, I think severe punitive actions such as a ban for life and imprisonment for players who plunge others into years of injuries could be one of the surest remedies of minimising the rate at which players play dirty games.
